Mathieu Fussman is best known for his Iconic Collections, capturing urban landmarks, featuring isolated classic cars as aesthetic artifacts.

The concept of his work is “behind a car, there is a background ; behind the background, there is a story”.

The car is to draw attention to tell a story, a worthy anecdote.

It forces us to look beyond what we see.

His idealistic urban pictures with their vintage vibe and devoid of human presence offer a stark contrast with our actual experience of crowded roads filled with dull metal boxes on wheels. And yet, they are as real.

Photomatyeux had previously captured the streets of Notting Hill in London in his singular style.
